Nate Silver simply did good stats. Ideological stats didn't work so well. That should have been a wake up call to a lot of people. Don't look for numbers you like, look instead for the numbers which are based on the best work. It was the classic Think Tank debacle. They are predicated on looking for what they like, not on looking for what is most accurate. But then, Kristol specifically said we need academics who produce research which supports our views. The fact that this didn't set off an alarm in his head says something very significant about his cognitive abilities. It leads to the Karl Rove moments if you fail to heed the warning.

"It's amazing how certain the entire Romney campaign was that they would win. As late as mid afternoon of election day."

They had planes full of victory party revelers flown into Boston! LOL! When you dis science, science can bite you on the ass. What I'm waiting for is conservatives denying something that kills them in large numbers, but not those of us that listen. Vaccinations are just a foretaste.
