I believe they're well-intentioned, regardless of how they want to get there.
It seems to me that, rather than deal with those suffering from poverty, liberals just want poverty to completely disappear.

That's not "well-intentioned." That's a pipe dream. John Lennon's "Imagine" implemented as if it's workable policy.
