The minimum wage went up until it was a living wage.
According to Wikipedia, the minimum wage never went above $10 and change (once again, measuring in today's dollars).

The only reason minimum wage went up shortly after 1938 was due to wartime inflation.

Unless you think $10 and change was ever a "living wage," you don't have a point.
A living wage would be a vehicle to get us back to unemployment below 5%
Cause all of the jobs that got sent overseas would come back, AMIRITE?
