He got the free pass and taxpayers got the shaft.

FEMA is just one more example of both parties having no self control. It is just too hard to say "No" to people in difficult circumstances, so the money flows without hesitation.

The one area I would really criticize Bush on Katrina was the wasted money. When the wheels came off he started throwing money at the situation. Of course, sometimes there is no alternative.

Not to minimize Sandy, but it just wasn't on the same scale as New Orleans. Of course, I'm frequently in NOLA and not where Sandy hit, but from news accounts I don't think it was anywhere near the same. But taxpayers dug deep.
