IMHO, you don't want a substantive analysis of our national welfare policy and its success/or lack thereof undertaken by the government using social scientists offering the reasons of: 1. political impracticality or 2. that plenty of studies providing data exist on the subject--yet refuse to post these other studies as an example of one that could give answers. Do we not need to know whether we are succeeding here or not and if not why not?

For any of the data graphs that are posted that attempt to address this subject on the merits you shoot then down with comments about their lack of professionalism (even though they are done by other social scientists), but can't, IMHO, explain this in laymen's terms as to why they lack professionalism.

Why not go to the merits of the argument directly and state what our national policy should be, or not be on the subject, and offer up data (since you have seen so much of it) to support your arguments which ever way they fall?.

I offer up a concrete example of a Welfare Reform proposal contained in the Heritage study (welfare women getting married should not lose income benefits from same) and you never ever read the study--just the summation. And dismiss it out of hand without adequately addressing my comments about probability doesn't mean causality.

Now granted, I get that this is not the only thing you or I have to do, and if it is going to take too much time to get into it that deep I can accept that as a legitimate reason not to participate. There's all different kinds of levels to participate on these threads. But you, IMHO, portray in your posts an expertise on the subject and, if so, then you have to act like an expert.

Just saying.
