Without rocks, we'd have never had the Stone Age. But, we've moved on.

not really, we still use rocks as building material. We have quarries where we mine many different types of rocks (as opposed to minerals and ore).

Try laying a cement foundation without rocks.
Or a granite countertop
or a marble floor

We probably use more rocks in one month than were used in the entire stone age.
