I've been doing some cool things on the net with my class. It occurred to me that Vocaroo (which my students use for vocabulary- I have them read their words and definitions out on Vocaroo, and then they have to send the URL to me of their reading)- could be used for reading texts to my second language students. So now, every time I give a reading assignment, I also read that assignment in to Vocaroo, and put the URL up on my school website, so my students can listen to it at their leisure. It seems to be helping them. I include commentary on symbolism, and vocabulary explanations as I go.
