why just impose this divine inference/interferrence & intervention only selectively?

The answer is ID isn't even about proclaiming divine intervention. It's about admitting that intelligent design is for some things, the most rational explanation.

You are free, like your fellow leftist non-believers, to believe in super powerful space aliens as the intelligent designers if you wish. I'll think you're wrong of course.

Exactly.... design in nature has been marveled at since the beginning of time... and it's going on in real time as we speak. Your physiology "designs" a healing response to trauma based on the ecology of that location for example. It's highly intelligent and totally different in every circumstance.

All organisms, cells, tissues, systems... ALL levels of life constantly "remodel" themselves based on reading their surroundings and reacting to it. Creationists would have you believe we are billiard balls and GOD has the cue stick... they basically ARE what they detest: the deterministic materialist.
