Not at all. I do agree that jobs which pay decent wages and convey some degree of self respect are the single most important thing. But unfortunately, no one can magically produce them for everyone. Its like saying there would be no poverty if everyone could be rich. Tis true, but also not going to happen.

How we structure welfare is largely orthogonal to how we create jobs. No matter what we do with job creation, we will always have people in poverty. How should we deal with them?
