This is one of the great false liberal mantras. The surpluses ended when the internet bubble burst and the Clinton recession started that Bush inherited. Then throw in 9/11. What Bush did was not have the stones to veto Congressional race card protection of Fannie and Freddie.

Now, if you simply want to say the crash happened on Bush's watch that is fine. Then we can say that the current catastrophes in the Arab world are happening on Obama's watch.

Oh and BTW - this horrific recovery is happening on Obama's watch of tax increases and mega regulation - and yes - the ultimate in trickle down economics. Do you remember all the lefty hatred of trickle down?
