A philosophical thought: We have this knee jerk thinking that comports with our close reality of norms and mores. Few seldom think of the relative nature of our ideas and feelings. And most people live according to a backdrop of cultural group think that is usually quite simplistic and wrong. E.g. what does a normal 20 year old do in college. If they can. School, sex, drugs and rock and roll. What too many don't understand, is how healthy and normal that behavior is. I would remind people the Hippies were the intellectuals of the day and that is substantiated by UC Berkeley being their headquarters. One of the greatest universities on earth with more noble prize winners than any other university. The smart kids juggle school, sex, drugs and rock and roll in a healthy balance. But they don't deny them. I am still in shock by how many people will drink, but still feel smoking a joint is criminal and irresponsible behavior.
