Jeez. Why did you give in to them? Your impatience cost you here. I would have set my limit buy order at the bid, and then left it alone for a few days. The evil MMs prey on impatient people like you. I place my limit buy orders at the current bid, and my limit sell orders at the current ask, and my orders are almost always filled after a small wait. Those MM bastards can take it or leave it.

Now, before someone chimes in with a "correction," I realize that the spread becomes adjusted so that I do actually buy at the ask, and sell at the bid. However, the point is that an adjustment is usually made by the MMs to my limits. They may still profit at my expense, but at least I minimize the damage that they inflict.
