re: Also, I think you are pretty damn naive to think you know more than the company.

Do you honestly expect ANYONE would give you information with a comment like that? Go check the posts for yourself - they are all on this site. The web also has lots of places containing research reports, the SEC reports, and numerous other articles. It took me about 15 hours of research to change my position.

IMO What's naive is believing a press release. I've been burned enough times by these in the past. Go check Cabletron's and Ascend's recent past. I only believe the SEC reports and audited financial statements because there is legal recourse if they lie there. Of course APM would NEVER lie...

Believe what you want, do as much or little research as you want. It's your money.

<<First of all, let me say that I think the announcement is very positive, in that it caught a lot of people with their pants down. From what I have seen in places other than SI, people don't really expect APM to post any kind of profit this yar during the transition. But WHAM, here they come with a press release basically saying, "Yes, things aren't so great, but we still (believe it or not) have customers, and plan on posting a decent profit in the next two quarters." >>

i wouldn't break open the champagne yet; WDC recently warned and reduced numbers to about 30 cents, only to come back to the shareholders and reduce estimated to zero, adn announce a 95 million dollar charge, or about 1.00 in EPS.

it wouldn't be shocking to see APM do it as well.

Brian,

>>people don't really expect APM to post any kind of profit this yar during the transition.<<

Huh?, the press release didn't say anything about PROFIT, it said
REVENUES. So APM will continue to have sales through the next
quarter!! Well whoopee doo, I guess they will keep their doors open.

Profit, forget it.

Cheers, David
