Here is what I worry about Wharfy. If we bomb Syria without cover, without a large alliance of other countries, then we are eyeball to eyeball with Russia.

And Obama and Putin are in a pissing match right now.

Anyone who thinks Putin and Assad will not make us pay for the bombing is being naïve. They will comeback at us in spades. So what is Kerry thinking?

Then what happens??

Do we just stop?

I don't think so, I think we will then be told we must meet their behavior, whatever it is, and so we escalate into more and more war. Or else the military just goes to more war without congress.

Does Kerry really think we can go and lob 200 cruise missiles at Syria and probably kill some Russians and engage in air fights, and then that they will get some message, and so be good and stop doing things we don't want?

No chance.

And there are going to be so many of these instances in the ME in the next decade, we must form alliances with the west at least.

Otherwise not only are we doing it all alone, but we will be risking a conflict with Russia and or China every time. And lots of war on our heads, and it will create many huge risks of WWIII.
