That's certainly the truth. What used to be distant events you heard of much later, after the fact, are now immediate live images that might as well be happening where YOU are. The truth is, they are still distant events happening to people you will never know.

It's not just war, it George Zimmerman. It's the 3 women held for 20 years by a sadistic, kidnapping rapist. A buddy's wife when I lived in Austin used to get in a panic anytime a hurricane threatened the Texas coast, even though it might cause a few thunderstorms in Austin days later.

We have an entire "news" industry built on whipping people up over things that will never touch them, personally. An honest news industry would go off this list:
