It is with a lot of optimism and excitement that the new Albanian cabinet was sworn in last night.

This official swearing in of cabinet was done just days after an inspiring speech by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama during which he highlighted the close and unwavering ties the country has with its key ally, the United States of America while also highlighting the progressive nature of his leadership and EU integration beliefs by noting "Albania is our homeland, Europe is our future." In a country where United States and European Union flags adorn many buildings, the Prime Minister's speech provided a wonderful reflection on those relationships.

In other news from Albania, it was announced by the Albania Investment Development Agency this week that Canadian companies had become the largest source of foreign direct investment in Albania, jumping ahead of perennially large regional players investing in Albania. In addition to big resource sector investments in Albania made by Canadian companies such as Tirex Resources, it is also very interesting to report that a Canadian pension fund has now become the owner of Albania's airport (the Mother Teresa Airport in Tirana).

After challenging months in Albania from a macro perspective, as activity ground to a halt in the country during a more than two month transition of government, today marks an exciting new day for both foreign investors and Albanians alike.

In recent weeks, Tirex Resources announced the appointment of former Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Sheila Copps to the Tirex team and both Ms. Copps and Tirex CEO Bryan Slusarchuk will be spending time in Tirana during the weeks ahead in what is assuredly one of the most promising times in Albania in recent memory.

We look forward to providing further updates from Albania in the near future. As a company that trades publicly in the United States, European Union (Germany) and Canada, Tirex is uniquely positioned to highlight the potential of Albania to investors around the world.

Regards,

The Tirex Team
