If there were a way to go after Assad himself, I would do that.
Too bad they disbanded the IMF - they could take care of him in less than a week!

Leonard Nimoy could just do a mind meld or pinch and...

Oh wait - it's just a TV show/movie.

Dang it.

See back in those days, we had some heros to look up to.

"I am still thinking about the international treaty that was signed and ratified by our country, and many others against the use of chemical weapons.....does that treaty mean anything anymore?"

Yes. That's why, on the 8th day, God created The Hague.

The International Criminal Court (commonly referred to as the ICC or ICCt) [2] is a permanent tribunal to prosecute individuals for genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and the crime of aggression (although jurisdiction for the crime of aggression [3] will not be awakened until 2017 at the earliest). [4] [5]

The ICC was created by the Rome Statute which came into force on 1 July 2002. [6] [7] The Court has established itself in The Hague, Netherlands, but its proceedings may take place anywhere. [8] It is intended to complement existing national judicial systems, and may only exercise its jurisdiction only when national courts are unwilling or unable to investigate or prosecute such crimes.

A19---I do think it should be an allied approach if the decision is made to bomb. And after the bombs drop....then what? Obama has a tough job.

I agree.

I'm wondering if another factor in the world leaders reticence has a punitive component: enmity toward Obama/US given the revelations about the NSA spying on them. Thinking out loud without a TV to know whether this has already been hashed out.

If there were a way to go after Assad himself, I would do that.

Absolutely. After his get OBL operation we can have no doubt that Obama would too(!).

Superlatives are impotent in describing the kind of person Assad must be. To do this heinous act knowing how paralyzed and ineffective the UN Security Council would be.

Putin has poisoned his own in this modern era. I forget the name of one of his huge opponents that he had poisoned while traveling in Europe.

That these men can actually do these things is beyond the scope of 99% of humanity's understanding.
