I believe more and more of us want moderate pragmatists and deep thinkers who are problem solvers and not so ideological driven and rigid across the board. More like what Chris Christie or Bill Clinton. Find me a RINO or DINO.

I don't disagree. I think that's why Obama was elected, and reelected. He really is a DINO, though 2nd term he's more liberal.

I also think an isolationist, purely domestic candidate could do very well. Christie might fit that niche. Somebody that doesn't care if everyone in Syria kills everyone else in Syria. "What's it to us?"

Which is, BTW, a good argument.

I think you are right. Most Americans are fed up with the current leadership and would love leaders working to solve our country's problems rather than promoting themselves and their party.

But.....

I have seen the enemy and it is us.........

We keep voting in the incumbents rather than putting new people in that may be different.

Regards

Neil

John, the idea about crazy right and left is a myth. It is true when you get far right they are crazy. But when you get far left you get the best and the brightest.

Here is my logic. Feel free to debate it.

The right, as I have said many times, lives according to myth and script. So the more conservative they are the more primitive e.g. as you move right to the very conservative Jews, Christian's or Muslims, you get more and more dogma until there is no room for free thought at all. It is all dogma.

But on the left, they live according to facts and logic. So when you go to the far left you get UC Berkeley (most noble prize winners of any university in the world), 51% of all scientists that call themselves liberal, Plato, Einstein, Russell, Whitehead, Huxley, Twain, Lincoln, Chomsky, and pretty much all the great thinkers in history.
