I don't have a solution

I have an observation

Several of these threads have recently been visited by folks who are very concerned about US policy that recognizes that some citizens are struggling in this environment

..and although we have systems in place that are hardly artful, they do address some survival issues that many American citizens are dealing with, like food stamps that might ameliorate some of the hunger that occurs daily in the richest nation on Earth

..and the thrust of many of these folks, newly posting, is that the folks occupying that far left corner of the distribution graph are there voluntarily

They should just get off their lazy asses and go to work

..problem solved

I think that a more significant problem is the monumental greed that has resulted in the reverse Robin Hood results, that the graph shows, is simply consuming the resources of the country and consolidating them into the hands of a few, very greedy individuals

This has resulted in a skewed distribution of resources with the least capable struggling to survive

..the end game of laissez faire capitalism

This is a situation that will self correct, it always has

I won't see it, but with the amount of fire power distributed in this country, the unwinding will put Marie Antionettes refrain to shame..

Let them eat cake, my ass

I have an AK-47 and I am going to get me some rich pigs

..and it appears from the level of inequality to date, and no particular political will to deal with it, I am not sure how much longer this can continue

The tax code needs to be redone, and pigs have to pay more
