That probably has to do with the idea of the psychology of man's possible evolution, one cannot look out into the sky knowing what we know now & not imagine other intelligent beings out there like ourselves. There is common ground, the problem is exacerbated now as before when the same fanatics took over 2000yrs ago, thats the problem with traditionalist zealouts, they make everything black & white, they also brought the wrath of destruction down on themselves. There were other options, there were many that wanted to progress & become more cosmopolitan, there were the same problems of the elite that we have today, thats very darwinistic as is religion itself. * He who has the gold makes the rules...
