The entire ME is going to blow up over the next decade, IMO. That is why we may have a new bull market in gold coming. There is nothing we can do about it as it is growing pains moving out of a 7th century culture into the 21st century. Many, especially up north (Afghanistan and Pakistan) , can barely read or write and many cannot even count. toothbrushes are rare. They like to fight and it is how they settle things. harshly. We must stay out and monitor it constantly. And so everything with allies. And they are breeding way to fast for their economics. Egypt has 80 million people, half of whom are under 25 And no jobs, so they have time to fight. That is true throughout the ME. I do think we should provide lots of humanitarian aid and help the secular folks as best we can.
