>> WA state has more debt than Arkansas but that is by no means the only metric when determining the quality of a state's economic life.

Well, hell, teddy, anyone can party on borrowed money. If our state were allowed, under its constitution, to borrow all it wanted, we could be having a great time at our children's expense.

However, there is that problem with the moral imperative; Arkansans don't believe it is okay; Washington state apparently thinks it is fine.

>> And truth be told WA's budget deficit/surplus ratio is far more elastic than AR's because the WA economy is much more robust

Budget deficit/surplus ratio? Sorry, I'm only a CPA. I have no idea what that means. But you sure as hell don't have a surplus.

>> We're not poor

Donald Trump's daughter, in the midst of his bankruptcy, was walking into one of Trump's buildings with him. There was a bum laying on the sidewalk out front. Trump stopped and told his daughter, "See that guy? He's a billion dollars richer than I am."

That's the situation with WA (and most other liberal states). Your broke, you just don't give the appearance of it yet. That's something about borrowing money -- you can get in neck deep before anyone has any idea just how broke you are.

>> the citizens of AR are some of the poorest, unhealthiest and least educated people in this country. Why that doesn't give you pause is the million dollar question.

It is true, Arkansas has 16% living below the poverty level, and WA has "only" 11%. Of course, the average poor person in Washington has about 5K more debt than an average Arkansan, due to your state's uncontrolled spending (it is far worse if you count unfunded pension liabilities). So, you tell me who is poor?
