Thanks Moonray. Currently I think DRAM is stable (believe it or not or finally! - but remember DRAM prices were crushed about 3 weeks ago), logic lead times are down and flash lead times are down big time. Difficult to extrapolate these trends to LSI because they are high end logic. Still Kurlak may have seen something near term. Incidentally networking and telecommunications segments explains why the networkers and companies like VLSI were bombed recently. The telecom chips thing is a new thing.

Still unlike 1996 there is very very strong bit growth and that must count for something. In 1996 I think people just stopped ordering. My sense are that things are getting bad in certain segments but unlike 1996 we are no where close to being kaput. We shall see. All the semi-equips have not yet indicated any sign of significant slow downs...

I don't buy the gloom and doom scenario. But there is definitely a slow down some where - I just disagree on the extent. Jan. will tell us - company balance sheets at that time should show the degree of inventory correction taking place.
