Yes, Janice. "Put in a third (ground) wire, to save lives, but don't hook it to the stuff with shortable electricity in it" ~ This seems to be the universal human behavior. Like biology. I guess "Darwinism" again. A city-wide (nay, country-wide) bug zapper, on human scale.

I worked one summer in a wood shop, where some wizard had filed the safety tabs off of the 440 v plugs for one of the table saws. As a result, it was possible to plug in the saw so that the table was live, rather than the saw motor. Large bolts of electricity would come arcing off the table, grounding onto to whatever was nearby. A good time was had by all.
