OpenROUTE Networks, Inc. Introduces The Dragon

The Industry's Lowest-Cost, Easiest-To-Use Internet Access Device

New Product Line Allows Small Businesses to Connect All Their Employees
to the Internet Through One Unit; Prices Start At Below $250

Internet World, Booth #1683

NEW YORK, Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- In an aggressive push to make the Internet accessible to
all PC users, OpenROUTE(R) Networks, Inc. today announced the Dragon(TM) series of Internet
Access devices. The two new Dragon products, which were formally introduced here before some
50,000 Internet World attendees, allow small businesses to connect all their employees to the
Internet through one small unit that costs as little as $249.

The base model Dragon features the ultimate in ease-of-use features and is the best value on the
market. The Dragon series gives users the cost benefit of connecting their workgroup of PCs to the
Internet using a single, shared Internet account via a shared modem and one telephone line. Dragon
users also have room to grow with an upgrade path to the Dragon Pro.

The DragonPro is ideal for the professional business person working at home or in a small office. It
features support for inbound calls; support for inbound connections from the Internet; support for
personal Web servers and other small office servers; upgradability to dedicated high speed Internet
links; and an upgrade path to OpenROUTE Networks' GT series product line for small business.

Best Value On The Market

The base model Dragon, priced at only $249 per unit, comes standard with a wide range of
software features including TCP/IP, asynchronous dial-up operation, PPP with PAP, CHAP, and
compression. A secure Internet connection is provided through Network Address Translation
(NAT). The Dragon Pro, priced at $349 per unit, adds support for synchronous operation and
other advanced software features. Both products feature a 5-year limited warranty. Dragon models,
which will ship in 30 days, will first be available from OpenROUTE Networks' Web site
(http://www.openroute.com) and specialty catalogs. The company is also recruiting partners to sell
Dragon products through the retail channel.

Eugene Y. Chang, vice president of marketing, said, ''OpenROUTE Networks has a long heritage
of developing powerful products that make it easy to connect to the Internet. With the Dragon, the
company has delivered a product that is the ultimate in simplicity and clearly the best value on the
market today. The Dragon gives small businesses the capability to use the Internet with the simplicity
as if they were always connected.''

Everyone on the LAN Now Gets Full Internet Connectivity

The Dragon and DragonPro are fast, simple-to-use and secure Internet Access devices that provide
immediate access to the Internet for all PCs and office workstations on an existing Ethernet local
area network (LAN). Dragon models are ideal for small businesses with existing LANs and the
millions of homes around the world that now have two or more stand-alone PCs. Users can now
share the Internet, just as they have used their LAN to share printers and other peripherals.

Users with individual Internet accounts who are familiar with Windows software installation
procedures can now easily add a Dragon device to their network and begin sharing their experience
with everyone on the LAN. The Dragon connects to any popular modem and standard dial-up
telephone line. Users simply enter the number of an Internet Service Provider (ISP), an Internet
password, and the type of modem being used. The typical user can be up and running in minutes
through five simple steps. With the Dragon Express Wizard, there is no need to enter hard-to-learn
configuration parameters that users find with traditional routers. Customers save money because
they no longer need separate phone lines, multiple modems or separate Internet accounts.

Dragon models come with high performance WAN connectivity (up to fractional T1 speeds),
multiple user access, room to grow features and built- in network security. Every user on the LAN
gets an instant Internet connection to today's most popular network services like e-mail, electronic
commerce, on-line research and multimedia. Completely friendly with existing networks, Dragon
models can be easily configured with any Windows 95 or Windows NT machine.
