Bob, it remains possible that Intel or Microsoft and others took a long hard look at fonix and fonix passed on them. Remember where the control of the stock is. If the price offered was right then management may have relented but its a great sign of confidence in the future of their product (justified or not) that they stick by their technology and will persue what they really percieve to be the best future for it.

Anyway, if the Siemens' folks are of the opinion that fonx solution is the best concept they've seen (as they say) then there is a possibility that Intel (and others) will be trying to solve the problem of what to do if they are left out of the only valid speech technology for chips. The future of the "right" (best, most convenient, chippable, user independant, resource miserly, etc) technology is vast enough that it could turn the tables and make one of the competing manufacturers the future standard. Our problem is that we are still in the dark as to the truth of much of this while relying on our intuition about the people involved (my take is they are all sincere).

I agree that Siemens buying a million shares or so at between $10 and $30 before the end of the century is a lot less bang than an immediate acquisition of 4.9% of that other company but Frank is right to point out there's a kind of familiarity bias in Intel over Siemens.

That just makes the current level more of a bargain. Randy's observation that the stock climbs back at the end of each trading day might show that friendly hands are keeping the stock from weakening too much. In the end we need the figures to prompt a fast covering by the shorts (Bloomberg now shows over 1.5 million shares) and that probably will have to await the second and third deal agreement details which might take several months.

Every day there are new potential investors who discover what fonix is about tho, both short and long, some of whom will also see the vision thing....... hopefully and get us back to our expectations premium for a key future technology.
