<<I'm mad not only as a Mac user but as an AAPL stockholder.>>

Hey, look at the bright side: at least you're not holding ORCL (I hope)! Missed by four points...OUCH!

Looks like Office 98 may put some wind back in Apple's sales. Although wind from Microsoft is not necessarily better than no wind at all.

Good luck to us all tomorrow.

To make you feel better here's my Mac shopping experience.

Last April, for all the usual reasons, I nearly went the P/C way. If I had met the salesperson described in the CompUSA sad posting, he probably could have convinced me. Instead, I had the very opposite experience.

I wandered into an Egghead Software store in CT...looking around their computer display, could not find a Mac anywhere...salesperson explained, much to his sadness, Egghead no longer carried Apple...the short of the story, learning I was undecided he, and eventually the other 2 salespeople in the store (it was a slow afternoon) rallied around in an outpouring of support for Mac. He pulled up on the screen web sites...wrote down addresses, model numbers, and even gave me his phone number if I needed support. Now, these guys were too young to be "stuck in the 80's"! They convinced me to stay with Mac...sold me on a Mac even though they didn't have one to sell!!
I left the store thinking how wonderful the Mac community really is.

I eventually bought a PowerComputing PowerCenter210. I do wish I had the real thing just on principle, but I got a knowledgable salesperson when I called Power...more than I can say for all previous attempts to buy a Mac. Yes, I'm mad at Apple as a company. I would have the Apple logo in front of me right now...ifonly!

The few times I have needed help over the years, I was never able to get it from AAPL...its always been a fellow Mac user who appears (they come out of the woodwork when there's a problem). Without you guys there'd be no Apple, at least, not for me.

Apple's phenomenal Macfaithful<--a truly outstanding asset, is what they should be utilizing in their marketing. To think they are charging for Tech-assist##!..."because others do" ###!!!
They could easily boast, "we're not charging because others have to....no other computer in the world has ever had the loyal following, 187<--#madeup> websites dedicated to ....blah..blah"

Loving a computer and the Mac community is not a good reason for owning the stock but it's why I'm here. Something good just has to be in the future....just has to be!
