I love DREW shoes - plus they last and last.

Even though my insurance doesn't cover it, I will go to my podiatrist if the situation arises. And it always seems that once I get one issue fixed, another arises.

He recommends New Balance shoes, but the styles are limited. I use the sneakers (with extra insoles) for every day walking and shopping. I took a look at the Drew shoes on line, and found a couple of local stores. I'd not heard of them, but plan on visiting one soon. They have a great selection of styles.

Toss any shoes that do not provide real support.

Already did that!

Try DREW shoes, or pick another ortho type shoe with removable insoles.

See above!

Never walk barefoot. Not even a few steps.

OK.........new one on me. I won't!

Keep a pair of slides with plenty of arch support real handy, so you never have to walk barefoot. NAOT is one such brand. Most Adidas shower shoes have very good arch support too.

I found a pair of Quark slides on a FL visit a couple of yrs ago that were wonderful. Unfortunately, they've stopped making that style, and I've been on the lookout for a replacement ever since. I will definitely give a look at the NAOT and Adidas brands. Just emailed NAOT for store locations in my area.

See a podiatrist. Mine got me some wonderful custom shoe inserts. I get new ones every 4-6 months.

Since insurance doesn't pay, I use Superfeet Green Premium Insoles.

They've worked quite well for me.

Rub in a little aspercreme a few times everyday
.

Never heard of that. Will try it.

Try cutting a Lidoderm patch into strips and put 1 or 2 strips on bad spots for sleeping.

Never heard of that either. Such good suggestions all worth exploring further.

Thanks!
