Cool down, bud.

It was prudent of the company to release the numbers as soon as they become evident, rather than allowing those select few to exploit insider info that's virtually impossible to prevent from leaking out to well-connected sources.

Bill,

Remember what happened October 27th this year? The Asian market took a dive on Larry, give him a break. If you read this evening's earnings release it's clear that they would've done pretty damned well had Asia not tanked on them. Yeah, they could've warned during the last couple weeks, but what difference would that have made? Maybe they didn't warn because they see this as only a blip on the performance radar screen. I'm pretty happy that they're doing so much business with Asia. Regardless of the trouble there, it's a huge market just waiting to buy, and it'll get back on track before too long.

Oracle's not going anywhere. Time to buy.

Good luck,

Mark

>>>>>>>Larry Ellison is a F___ing idiot. In October he's bragging about how they'll blow away last quarter and then they miss with no warning, not to mention the fact that their investor relations told me last week that earnings wouldn"t be out till next week. Is this whole company a bunch of liars or what?<<<<<

Yes he is, and no, they are not. But they are idiots, too.

in reply to "Is this whole company a bunch of liars or what?" I must say that this is the funniest thing i have ever seen on SI. Maybe any investment forum anywhere. btw: wish it were true that verasity either engendered or was required for success, but it appears to me that the correlations are inconsistent. I prefer to invest and do business with folks that aren't pathological liars, but it may just be a personal quirk more than a useful rule of investing.

good luck.

Bill, all I can say is that Ellison could have used the time he spent trashing Informix in the financial press and theorizing on AAPL to run his company a little better.

Good trading,

Tom
