This isn't nonsense: Al Qaeda is an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood. The current head of AQ is Ayman Al Zawahiri, a former MB member. Former Egyptian President and MB member, Morsi, met with Zawahiri in Pakistan and promised him he'd let him return to Egypt. Mohammed Atta was also a MB member.

Hasan Al Banna founded the Muslim Brotherhood with the goal of re-establishing the Islamic Caliphate and renewing international jihad against the non-Muslim world. That is also a key goal of Al Qaeda.
