Public schools have been starved. In California when I was growing up and people funded public schools well they worked very well. If one does not believe in them then they will not try and make them work. Just like those who do not believe in government do not try to make it work because if they did it would prove them wrong. All my friends and family mostly went to public schools and we all have done fine.
