I don't know ONE person that believes corporations should have the rights of human citizens.

...........better issues to begin this amendment process would be term limits for Congress and a balanced budget amendment.............huge bipartisan public support for both.....EXCEPT in Congress......from there other issues come to mind.............yours would be low on my list.

>> I think my city and perhaps my state is going to try to amend the constitution and over-rule the Supreme Court. Which will only work if this is happening in all other states. Anyone heard anything like this?

Hell, I've been accused of pushing the idea for a few months. It is real, and it is happening, and it is an idea whose time has come. The Convention of States is the one hope the country has for getting back on track.

Perhaps you don't know ONE person who understands what corporations are and why they exist and how they operate. I do think, however, that if the Article V convention is held, giving the Left what they want WRT Citizens United would be a worthwhile trade.

You need 34 states to call a convention, 38 states to ratify. So, the red states can almost get there, but would need a couple of blue states to get onboard with to propose amendments. Then you have to get four more onboard to ratify.

As to corporations having "rights" of humans, they have many human attributes when it comes to legal matters and with that must come SOME "rights".

OTOH, if you understood the Citizens United decision you would understand it isn't about "corporations having the rights of human citizens." That wasn't the essence of the decision; the decision was very much about the First Amendment rights of human citizens.

Isn't that the case in the whole state of Montana?
