Haim, Tommaso:

Ecclesiastes also tells us that no one will remember the cycles: The people of long ago are not remembered, nor will there be any remembrance of people yet to come by those who come after them. So the writer of this biblical passage predated Santayana and his dictum: Those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it.

Unfortunately for me I remember very well the mutual fund mania of the sixties and the fall in '69 and the terrible "ursa major" of the early 70's. I guess that's my problem. Too much history remembrance. Not enough "new era" indoctrination. Is there hope for me? Can I begin to believe that stocks are good buys at 5 times replacement value? I'm trying.
