And yet Oracle still doesn't cite "competitive inroads made by Microsoft" as a challenge to their database business. Now that is the biggest joke, in my opinion. Talk about Larry's ego!

Most recently, Microsoft said it was "ahead of plan" in Asia.

Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) on track for Southeast Asia
Reuters, Friday, November 21, 1997 at 18:17
REDMOND, Wash., Nov 21 (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp expects
to have no problem meeting its sales goals for southeast Asia
in the current 1998 fiscal year, despite economic turmoil in
the region, a company executive said Friday.
Blas Garcia-Moros, regional director for southeast Asia,
said in an interview that the company is ahead of plan so far
this fiscal year, which began July 1, 1997.
He declined to give dollar figures, but said sales rose 50
percent year-on-year in the first quarter against 65 percent in
fiscal 1997. Microsoft's plan calls for sales growth of less
than 50 percent in the six country region this year.

TD,

I think the word you were looking for was megalomaniac. I usually don't correct people on their spelling, but in this case I'm annoyed at the way people cast disparaging remarks on Larry.

The fact is this is the first quarter Oracle has missed in over 6 years. In that span of time, Larry and the rest of the company have made millionaires out of many lucky investors.

You are certainly right about how you cannot predict, Trader Dave.

<<I can't predict how bad it will be but I'd guess stock sees the low to mid 20's. Maybe a dead cat bounce to $26.>>
