What racial groups do you think are experiencing discrimination in the NBA? Ever hear of Jeremy Linn? Or the dorky white guy at the end of the bench jokes? Ever try being the different guy at camp or summer league who didn't quite fit in? Basketball was my sport growing up in NYC Ted.. Lots of culture, turf protection and closed mindedness there too no different than trying to move up the corporate ladder if you are on the outside. But in the end it should be about who is the best man based on his skill, work ethic and accomplishments. That content of his character rather than the color of his skin thing I see.........you have all the empathy in the world for some poor white schlub trying to make it in a sport dominated by blacks but you can't see how extraordinarily destructive slavery and 150 years of institutional racism may have on the collective black psyche.
