It’s not one technology but many and it’s a work in progress. New coal powered plants currently reach efficiency levels of 43 to 48% versus ~36% for older plants, emit 20% less CO2, 72% less Nitrogen Oxide, 93% less Sulphur Dioxide and 93% less particulate matter. All of this information is available on the internet but finding it is a trick and a half since green / enviro websites have perfected the art of drowning out (inconvenient) information.
