There's been more science discovery in the last 100yrs than in the last 10,000 & that universal participation that shares in that discovery is gone global. Perfect example of positive cultural evolution, you dope. More dopey posts by whining apologists, simpleton alarmists worried that their position is suffering from a natural attrition, just as the mother Church experienced back in 1600's. ( and that Church is evolving)

As a Christian, you aren’t just a member of a religion — you’re a member of a rich intellectual tradition unmatched by any group, anywhere in the world. So don’t just sit there and let the atheists blabber about how your faith hates science. Speak up, damn it. Fight back. Get angry.

What blabber is this?

Onwards Christian semi educated soldiers?

Who reads this bullshit?

Only you & the other dopes!

“The criteria calls for a renewed emphasis on man-caused climate change and, of course, evolution. Evolution , atheistic, nihilistic, materialistic, mindless evolution must be taught as fact, without other ideas presented to compete with the theory. ”

Replace the evolution with the word gravity and see how silly this attempt at demonizing sounds. Also there isn’t really any other ideas that compete with the theory of evolution. Lamarckian was debunked long ago.

“Some religions don’t gel with science, religions like Scientology or, say, Atheism. The followers of the COA (Church of Atheism) are not only hostile to science, they are aggressively allergic to history and philosophy as well. “They are the ones who constantly need to alter and warp these subjects, so as to fit them all in their tiny little box of nihilism and emptiness.”

Sounds like the crazy book this fool is writing from here, does it have dragons, demons, wizards & angels from revelations too? Atheism and nihilism are separate things, its quite uncommon to find an atheist who is also a nihilist. We can just point to young earth creationists who say things like the Loch Ness monster is real and that somehow disproves evolution as a contradiction to that.

“Yes, faith and belief are important, but you, my Christian compatriot, are standing on the Mountain of Truth. You have the high ground. YOU have the facts and the science on your side. Your faith does NOT conflict with science.”

Actually your religion does conflict science or you wouldn't be here whining so much. Faith is the anti-thesis to science, faith is belief in things unproven, science is the thirst to observe, learn and prove things real & repeatable. Christians do not have facts and science on their side. This ranter may want to do a bit more research on Copernicus and Galileo, which were both labeled as heretics for their findings and one was almost excommunicated from the church, the other his book came out after his death.

“Christianity built this civilization; your Christian ancestors are the pioneers behind the greatest advancements in many fields of study. Christianity illuminates the sciences and invigorates the passion for discovery.”

Not even close to the truth, the foundations of science are not rooted in the Christian church but part of a larger continuum of which it was an extension.

The Greek Kings of Egypt continued the tradition of Alexander's philosophy and regarded the advances in science, literature and medicine as among the treasures of the empire. For centuries they generously supported research and enlightenment even giving body to the Christian/Judaic texts starting 200-300BC. The library of Alexandria at it’s peak it is estimated contained nearly one million scrolls. This was when humans first collected, seriously and systematically, the knowledge of the world.

Religious superstitions didn’t assist those understandings. They were only barely tangential to them, in the way any philosophy helps to first drive a question in science even today.

Also ignores the contribution of Muslims to western science. How do you add Christian belief to science curriculums when even Christians do not agree in what is “Christian truth”? How do you reconcile the beliefs of someone like Congressman Paul Broun (R-Ga.) who labels himself a Christian who said that evolution and the big bang theory are “lies straight from the pit of Hell”?

Congressman Paul Broun: Evolution, Big Bang 'Lies Straight From The Pit Of Hell'

(Posted: 10/06/2012 , just last year, pretend Christians are real lovers of science alright, dumb jackasses like you.)

Congressman Paul Broun (R-Ga.) said last week that evolution and the big bang theory are "lies straight from the pit of Hell."

"God's word is true. I've come to understand that. All that stuff I was taught about evolution and embryology and the big bang theory, all that is lies straight from the pit of Hell," said Broun, who is an MD. "It's lies to try to keep me and all the folks who were taught that from understanding that they need a savior."

He continued:

"You see, there are a lot of scientific data that I've found out as a scientist that actually show that this is really a young Earth. I don't believe that the earth's but about 9,000 years old. I believe it was created in six days as we know them. That's what the Bible says."

According to NBC News, Broun's comments were part of a larger speech given at the 2012 Sportsman's Banquet at Liberty Baptist Church in Hartwell, Georgia on September 27th. A clip of the video was distributed by the The Bridge Project, a liberal watchdog group.

Broun is a high-ranking member of the House Science Committee, of which Rep. Todd Akin (R-Mo.) is also a member.

Akin made headlines last month for suggesting that women don't get pregnant from "legitimate rape" because their bodies have "ways to try to shut that whole thing down."
