How difficult is it to find an unused driveway off of aback road, and just pull in for the night?

Don't know. I've never tried that for fear of trespassing charges. Perhaps one could do that on some forest service roads but many of them that I've seen weren't very conducive to motor home travel.

We've done all of that, and those have been the best camping experiences. You get to know your way around, and end up talking to other people who know it too. Pretty soon you're doing some camping in beautiful places you never knew existed. That's one of the main reasons we've stayed small..........to get into places where other rigs won't fit.

One thing I liked about my AT hike was being remote
for 5 or 6 days, then going into town/campground
overnight. In town long enough to do laundry, get a
good meal, maybe catch a movie or play golf, then
move on. Is this possible with an RV?
