scope,
more news upped memory capability to 124*24. this seem to be pretty signacant.

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Dec. 17, /PRNewswire/ -- Integrated Silicon Solution,
Inc. (NASDAQ:ISSI) today introduced the IS61LV12824, a high-speed,
asynchronous 128K x 24 SRAM. With a top speed of 10ns, the IS61LV12824
provides high-speed systems with three times the memory bandwidth of standard
x8 SRAMs.
"The IS61LV12824 represents the growing trend for memory devices to be
optimized for specific system needs," said Bob Cushman, ISSI's vice president
of corporate marketing. "The 24-bit wide organization directly interfaces
with 24-bit DSPs such as Motorola's DSP56300 family. Using two 128K x 24s
provides the same kind of easy interface for the 48-bit Analog Devices
Share(TM) DSPs. Together with ISSI's ISB2C600 'Trailblazer' 16-bit Virtual
Dual Port memory, compatible with TI's 16-bit DSPs. ISSI now provides memory
support for three major high performance DSP families."
The IS61LV12824 eliminates wait-states, even at 100 MHz DSP clock rates,
is available with access times of 10, 12 and 15 ns and is packaged in 199-pir
14mm x 22mm Plastic Ball Grid Array (PBGA) and 100-pin TQFP packages. The
IS61LV12824 features single write-control and output-enable lines for direct
DSP compatibility, and a much smaller footprint than multi-device solutions.
Multiple VCC and VSS pins, together with reduced package inductance and
capacitance, greatly minimize on-chip and in-system noise generation. ISSI's
newest SRAM is manufacture on a mature 0.35u process, which has been in volume
production for over a year.

IS61LV12824 Features

* Low Power Operation
* 250mW Operating Power (Typical)
* 250uW Standby Power (Typical)
* Single 3.3 V +/- 10% Power Supply
* Fully Static Operation
* Three-state Outputs
* JEDEC PBGA and TQFP Packages

Pricing and Availability
Available now, the IS61LV12824 at 10ns is priced at $28.00 in quantities
of 5,000.
