Not really. If you read the actual report, you quickly see that it is flawed in many ways. For one, it creates a hypothetical family that qualifies for all available programs in a given state. This is almost impossible, at least in Texas. TANF is limited here for the most part to single teenaged mothers. Last time I looked at the stats for Brazos county, there were 6 families on TANF. Brazos county is primarily rural with the exception of Bryan/College Station and is far from the wealthiest county in Texas.

Many of the other programs they assume their hypothetical family qualifies for are one time or otherwise temporary, or qualifying for one disqualifies you for others. If you don't have minor children and/or disabled, you can't even qualify for many of the programs.

So the whole idea that you can live better off of public assistance than you can working is total nonsense. Find, oh 12, people across the country who have managed to do this for more than a few months. Like the welfare Cadillac of the Reagan administration it is a myth.

Once you get $20 an hour for working, maybe you can push for getting people $15 an hour for not working?

No wait......already done....

There are 13 million people on welfare in a country of over 300 million.....about 4% of the population.. Just another BS complaint by a bankrupted party.
