They say that because consumption while staying at home and doing nothing equals GDP. GDP equals the ability to borrow more money at low interest, backed by the fewer and fewer taxpayers remaining. GDP isn't based on revenue collected, it's based on consumption. The borders are open full tilt and the advertising is on full tilt for one thing...to pump fake GDP so more money can be borrowed. They are desperate for GDP growth and importing a bunch of losers who only produce turds and CO2 pump GDP growth. GDP is just a stupid statistic and they are destroying this country off of it.
