here's why you don't like him he tried to prevent this, too bad he failed now look at all the people with worthless degrees.

Student strike at San Francisco State University[ edit source | editbeta]During 1968-69, there was a bitter student and Black Panthers strike at San Francisco State University for the purpose of gaining an Ethnic Studies program. It was a major news event at the time and chapter in the radical history of the United States and the Bay Area. The strike was led by the Third World Liberation Front supported by Students for a Democratic Society, the Black Panthers and the counter-cultural community, among others. It proposed 15 "non-negotiable demands", including a Black Studies department to be chaired by sociologist Nathan Hare independent of the university administration and open admission to all black students to "put an end to racism", an unconditional, immediate end to the War in Vietnam and the university's involvement with it. It was threatened that if these demands were not immediately and completely satisfied the entire campus was to be forcibly shut down. [2] Hayakawa became popular with conservative voters in this period after he pulled the wires out from the loud speakers on a protesters' van at an outdoor rally, dramatically disrupting it. [3] [4] [5] Hayakawa relented on December 6, 1968 and created the first-in-the-nation College of Ethnic Studies [2].

If you owned a business why would you hire someone with an ethic studies degree ? unless you want your employee to sue you for some bogus claim.

I doubt you have any idea what Ronald Reagan did or did not do. Former US Presidents had aided all manner of evil leaders. Stalin in WWII. Such arguments are really ignorant outside of the full context of events at the time.

I attended a rally against SI Hayakawa North Eastern University. I was just interested in what was going on. I had no desire to hear him speak. I was an engineering student and politics was bullshit. But the rumor was there would be a riot. I took up a position inside the entrance to the Snell library. It was elevated and gave a clean view of the entire main quadrangle.

I saw the confrontation developing. I witnessed several your wise SDS friends who came dressed as medical personel. They started the yelling. Then when it reached a good volume the opened their medical bags and took out rocks and bricks and stated hurling them over the head of the students in front of them at the line of police who were standing making no threats.

This caused the police to react. With honest legal cause. Your friends were creating a deadly threat. A half brick can kill. Many students were trampled and injured as the police cleared the quadrangle. So that was the scum who educated you in the American way of free speech and assembly. I saw it all. All caused by your counter culture buddies.

Bricks and sarin are the wisdom of you and Sadam. Reason and debate are the wisdom of Reagan and I.
