The really honest thing to do would be to say we don't know how life originated or what caused life to change over time

And again keep making the same mistake over & over again, evolution does not address the abiogenesis or origin point of life...or the universe etc, thats an entirely different thread.

This poetry by the Persian poet Hafez from 1350 is really something, am absolutely sure this started a revolution back in Europe when they brought such literature back with them from the Crusades nearly two centuries before. And you think there was no syncretism or outside cultural effects, too bad the poets didn't rule.

All the Hemispheres

Leave the familiar for a while.
Let your senses and bodies stretch out
Like a welcomed season
Onto the meadow and shores and hills.

Open up to the Roof.
Make a new watermark on your excitement
And love.

Like a blooming night flower,
Bestow your vital fragrance of happiness
And giving
Upon our intimate assembly.

Change rooms in your mind for a day.
All the hemispheres in existence
Lie beside an equator
In your heart.

Greet Yourself
In your thousand other forms
As you mount the hidden tide and travel
Back home.

All the hemispheres in heaven
Are sitting around a fire
Chatting

While stitching themselves together
Into the Great Circle inside of
You.

Leaving the subject of Evo/Devo, yes indeed we see the very strong influence of another poet in Italy starting at the same time 1300's to end of century,as Hafez over in Persia

Francesco Petrarca was a major, major force in shaping that pivotal time of Europe leaving the Dark Ages, "Petrarch" he was known as, stirring the hearts of almost all of europe simultaneously, welcomed in every court, most highly respected. Known as The Father of Humanism, and you thought it was all new age... wrong.

I think you worship the wrong gods...

Petrarch Father of Humanism

Breeze, blowing that blonde curling hair,
stirring it, and being softly stirred in turn,
scattering that sweet gold about, then
gathering it, in a lovely knot of curls again,

you linger around bright eyes whose loving sting
pierces me so, till I feel it and weep,
and I wander searching for my treasure,
like a creature that often shies and kicks:

now I seem to find her, now I realise
she’s far away, now I’m comforted, now despair,
now longing for her, now truly seeing her.

Happy air, remain here with your
living rays: and you, clear running stream,
why can’t I exchange my path for yours?

``it's just an argument about what happened in the past``

It is not an argument because it has no legitimate converse. It is a Scientific collection of FACTS as to how life evolved--a mass of evidence that grows rapidly day by day and which has been Scientifically evidenced for 150 years in our schools.

You need to get modern. You are 150 years behind the rest of us!
