Not disagreeing, but while Google is dominant in mobile search ads, in the mobile display ad space (which includes in-app display ads), it seems like they are just as bad at it as anyone else. These are US only numbers, but they are pretty much negligible for a company of Google's size.

In the ad network segment, not much has changed. Google still holds the top spot ($243 million). One change is that Millennial Media ($151 million) has taken over Apple ($125 million) to claim the number 2 spot. Jumptap remains number 4 ($90 million).
That said, it's likely that the ad inventory for mobile is a subset of that from the larger Internet ad inventory, where Google definitely dominates.
