Andrew,

One possibility, at least partially, influencing the rally today may have been the new issue(dec.) of Worth. Just came in the mail for me today. On page 39, in the article entitled "What They're Buying, 1998,", it was listed as one of the two picks for the year by, you got it, Micheal Murphy....rated as a buy up to 14$, and gave expectation of 28$ by the end of the year(98).. The article also listed a few of Al Frank, W. Nasgovitz, J. McCamant, etc. Others mentioned by MM were IDTI for this year, with ARRS, and mentioned his two picks from last year, XOMA(continue to hold) and CHIR(raised buy limit up to 25 due to his opinion of excellent prospects).

Well, that covers it for me. FWIW, I like this combo.(sqna and arrs) of companies for the long haul...they covered one of the things necessary for the long-term growth and survival, as long as they get a few products out over the next several years.

Regards,

Marshall

<<Ken, don't they call those people conservatives? (:>)>>

Actually I love political discussion almost as much as discussion of the fascinating biotechnology business. I'm much more of a "rip it all down!" libertarian today than a conservative (that, IMO, will be the focus of political debate in the coming century). But I won't digress further, since here on the biotech threads, we have much work to do (like making a s--tload of money). I haven't spent much time in the backwaters of SI, but perhaps there's a political thread there. The diversity of views among biotech investors has to be awsome.

The unanswered question is what this unhappy investor has to gain from such an announcement. Neither a proxy fight or lawsuit would probably get anywhere, so what's he up to that would improve his position?

(BTW: The contemporary reactionaries seem to be socialists and welfare-statists scratching to preserve old empires against the changing currents of world opinion. "Rip it all down!!")(:->)
