I think the handsets appeal to two entirely different customers. You are right though that there will be many 4S owners who choose to go with the 5S rather than the 5C.

OTOH, I think the 5C will be attractive to the type of customer that had previously been choosing the free iPhone 4. Apple's iPhone sales seemed like a barbell previously with both the 4 and the 5 more popular than the $100 4S...I think that gets more top heavy over the next year.
