You have to be joking! The Republicans had no input to the affordable care act, none at all. They didn't even receive it but hours before the vote. Democrats didn't read it by choice. So in your case the ACA is truly a case of the Blind leading the Blind. The house leader Pelosi even stated "we have to pass it before we can find out what is in it. It was snuck through and passed in an atypical manner as well.

Specifically, he referred to the debt load as "unsustainable" (translation: It will bankrupt the country) and then he went on to point out specifically what it is in the budget causing the problem: a) Social Security b) Medicare/Medicaid c) So-called "subsidies" provided by Obamacare. These three items were specifically the problem, and he went on to point out further that all the rest of the budget was LESS of a problem in the long-term than it is today. So, there is no question, at least among professionals like Elmendorf, Buffett, Death panels were part of the propaganda campaign, but far more benign than the lies spread by proponents of the legislation, so we'll give you the benefit of the doubt and call that a wash.
