Democrats are actually for working on all those things- but republicans aren't, and on top of that republicans are so enmeshed with gun rights they've never met gun restrictions they like. Being "nicer" or more "respectful" to the republicans isn't going to bring those shit heels to the party. I saw Obama try being accommodating. It didn't work. But even if you did all that, and got the republicans to come to your party, it's not going to do squat. Just get used to mass shootings. There really is nothing you can do about them. Too many guns- and too many crazy people. You'll never be able to get to them all.
