I'm not capable of conveying a wealth of information in a blog post in a manner that wouldn't go over your head.

The "low info voter" phrase has gained a lot of use recently. It's generally flung as an insult, but most often is grounded in reality.

Many, maybe most, of these low info folks are not mentally deficient; rather without exposure to adequate knowledge to understand the issues.

The psychologist Jonathan Haidt recently fleshed out the observation that America's remaining liberals (now called libertarians) tend to assimilate a LOT of information, then use superior cognitive abilities to reach conclusions. Their opposites rely more on intuitions and susceptibility to cranks.

Understanding why Keynes was a latter day alchemist would require acquisition of more knowledge than you'll find here.

Keynes supplies a rationale for the inferior beings who tend to hold office to interfere where they don't belong. Bush, damned his bones, pulled the stake from Keynes rotting heart and made way for his successor to do worse.
