Gilder seems a better writer since Wealth and Poverty, and maybe a better thinker, too. Banging information theory and economics together like flint and steel gives off some nice sparks.

I'm almost through Gilder's latest. Makes me wish I was still a serious reader instead of a tired old skimmer.

I'm not sure he really presented a "new" economics, but he sheds bushels of light on subjects that have largely remained in the shadow of conventional thought. His thesis makes it apparent why much of what is considered economics is little more than alchemy and divination from the study of chicken entrails.

A worthwhile read for those masochists interested in this stuff.
